Jimmy Fitzpatrick's tough break

Before X Games 16, ESPN.com/Action's Cliff Talley booked it out to Temecula, Calif. to hook up with Metal Mulisha's Jimmy Fitzpatrick, and discuss the reason he was unable to compete in Best Trick. Prepping for months with the hopes of stomping the front flip and possibly a front flip combo, Fitzpatrick was ready to battle for gold -- but within a matter of seconds his X Games hopes were diminished. While filming for Jay Schweitzer's "On the Pipe 6" film, a Superman seatgrab backflip gone wrong sent Fitz to the ground, breaking his wrist and arm in several places.
